Meet ME at the corner of Hollywood and Highland

I’ve given Domineau plenty of time to revel in the joy of thinking she’s right for long enough-- its time you understand the truth. If hearing Katy Perry sing about California Gurls all summer hasn’t convinced you that LA is the place to find your eternal companion, allow me to give you the rundown on why So Cal is the only place to retire from the Provo All Star scene.
  • It’s 93 degrees and sunny in beautiful Burbank today. It’s also November 4th. If that doesn’t make you Provo-ites itching to get out of town just keep reading.
  • There are four singles wards in the greater Los Angeles area: Los Angeles 1st, Santa Monica 3rd, Glendale 7th, and Northridge.
  • For those that haven’t heard, Santa Monica is a beach, i.e. the place where the ocean meets the sand and its 93 degrees in November.
  • Whether you are a high powered accountant (you MAC and former MAC students know what “The Big Four” is), a former Mormon movie actor, a wannabe real movie actor, a lawyer, a doctor, an artist, or just someone who loves the beach, (remember 93 degrees) LA is the place for you.
  • The Los Angeles temple is about as big and beautiful as they come and has a brand new visitor’s center. If you are one of those people that chooses their temple based on the beauty of the building, (if you ever went to Timpanogos instead of Provo I’m talking to you) you have options. Newport temple is just down the road, and every girl’s fantasy temple, San Diego, is just beyond that.
  • If ethnic food is your thing, you are in the right place. I just “yelped” Indian food, and got 180 responses. Take that Bombay House.
  • Do I even have to say it? Ok I will. Disneyland. I know you are embarrassed to admit it, but you and 300 other EFY counselors all made your yearly trip and you loved it. Come to LA and you can go whenever you want.
  • So you don’t want to admit your love for Disneyland? Need something a bit more thrilling? Well, very nearby you have the option of Six Flags, Knott’s Berry Farm, and Universal Studios.
  • Did I mention the weather?
  • Finally, although traffic sucks and public transit isn’t much better, we all know this just gives you more time to sit on the freeway and discuss baby names with your eternal sweetheart. On your second date.
There you have it; my opening statement. Back-up and depositions will follow, but remember before you make any rash decisions; Its 93 degrees in Burbank today, and if weather.com isn’t lying its 50 degrees and raining in DC.
